Class Act - Nnamdi Asomugha

It was reported today that my favorite Raider, Nnamdi Asomugha, has been signed by the Eagles to a 5 year $60M deal. Although I was surprised with Nnamdi's final destination (Philly instead of NYJ, Dallas, or Arizona), it wasn't a shock that the Raiders weren't able to bring him back into the fold. When you consider the Raiders' current salary cap challenges, Nnamdi was a luxury item that the team couldn't afford when configuring a 53 man roster.

Career Highlights and Awards:
- 4x Pro Bowl selection
- 4x All-Pro selection
- 2x Oakland Raiders MVP;
- Ranked #18 on the list of NFL Network's Top 100 NFL players of 2011

Nnamdi is the epitome of a TRUE role model ... elite shut-down cornerback, phenomenal athlete, dedicated professional, outstanding work ethic, humble, law abiding solid citizen, man of character, and passionate philanthropist. #21 will be sorely missed in the Raider Nation and I wish him the very best in his next stage of his career.

Happy Birthday, Al

As the country celebrates it's 237th year of independence, Al turns 82. I have been laying low in the weeds with the league lockout but will pick things up as soon as the CBA mess gets sorted. In the meantime, Martin Snapp has an interesting article in today's Oakland Tribune worth reading.
